In a recent blog, I discussed how you can maintain consistency in your branding. As a follow up to that, I want to talk about how to maintain consistency in your branding across social media. I can bet you’re using this as a tactic to raise awareness of your brand!

1. Be clear on your brand personality and use it consistently

The first thing you want to do is make sure you have defined a personality for your brand so you’re able to use it consistently across all your social media platforms. When you think of your brand as a person with a distinct personality, it becomes easier for consumers to connect with your brand on an emotional level. It also helps to differentiate you from the competition. Need help getting started? 2. Create a social media strategy

For social media to be successful, you need a direction, you need goals, and you need to know how you’re going to achieve them. To ensure consistency in your branding, you should have a social media strategy in place that will help you define how often you want to post, what your goals are for social media, and the type of content you’ll post. Check out this blog I wrote for tips on what you should all be including in your strategy.

3. Schedule your social media

When it comes to consistency, the best way to ensure that you’re posting regularly is to block out some time once a week to schedule your social media in advance. If you’re trying to do it in “real time,” you might find yourself struggling to figure out what to post or forgetting all together. Scheduling it in advance will save you time and take that weight off your shoulders!

4. Ensure your bios are similar

Now that you you’ve gotten clear on your brand personality, make sure you’re incorporating it into your social media bios across all platforms. Your social media bios are the opportunity to summarize your brand story – who you are, what you offer, and why they should care. Need help on writing your brand story? 5. Think of your Instagram as a magazine layout

When you’re scheduling your Instagram posts, think of the “grid” as a magazine layout and consider how the picture you’re about to post will fit in with what’s beside it and below it. You want to make sure there is visual consistency across the photos and you are using the same font, filters and colours.

6. Add a watermark

One clear way to ensure visual consistency in your social media is to add a small branded watermark to any graphics you create. This could be something like your logo or website and will ensure that if it’s shared, you’ll get the credit.

Using these tips, you’ll be able to ensure you’re getting your brand out there on social media while raising awareness of exactly who you are! I’d love to know,  what are your best tips to maintaining consistency on your social media?
